Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Armenia. Border officers at Zvartnots Airport check the expiry date against your departure ticket. Airlines may refuse boarding if your passport has less than 3 months validity beyond your travel dates.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight, bus, or train booking ready. Without one, you risk being denied entry and sent back on the next flight.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel confirmation, hostel booking, or an invitation letter from your host in Armenia. Border officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready speeds up the process if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Immigration may ask how you plan to fund your trip. Have a bank statement, credit card, or cash (around 50,000 AMD per day) available to show. In practice, this is almost never checked for Belgian passport holders.Recommended
No visa, no fee — but be prepared
You don't need a visa or any advance registration. Just your passport, a return ticket, and a place to stay for the first night. Keep a screenshot of your onward ticket on your phone — immigration sometimes asks.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Armenia. Airlines check this before boarding. If you're close to expiry, renew before you go.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Yerevan Zvartnots Airport (EVN) or land border
Most Belgian travellers fly into Yerevan. At the airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control' — there are separate queues for Armenian citizens and foreigners. Join the 'Foreigners' line.
2
Present your passport and ticket
Hand over your passport and your return/onward ticket if asked. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. No visa or fee is required.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. You're free to enter Armenia.
