Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 30 days from your date of entry into Uzbekistan. Airlines at Brussels Airport will check this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uzbekistan
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Border officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $100 USD per day of your visit. Officers rarely check this for Belgian passport holders, but it helps to have it ready.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Uzbekistan requires 6 months of validity from your entry date, not your departure date. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. Double-check before you book.
Keep a digital copy of your documents
Save photos of your passport, return ticket, and accommodation booking on your phone or in cloud storage. If you lose your passport, this makes replacement much faster.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
At Tashkent International Airport (or any other international airport), follow signs to 'Passport Control' after baggage claim. There are separate queues for Uzbek citizens and foreigners — join the 'Foreign Passports' line.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and boarding pass. The officer will check your passport validity, look for a blank page, and may ask for your return ticket. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and writes the number of days allowed (usually 30). Check the stamp before walking away — make sure the dates are correct.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, pick up your bags from the carousel and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. If you're carrying more than $10,000 or restricted items, use the red channel.
