Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months from entry), print or save your return ticket, accommodation booking, and any travel insurance details. Download the Visit Japan Web app and complete the online form to speed up arrival.

Arrive at a Japanese airport
At Narita, Haneda, Kansai, or other international airports, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' or 'Arrivals'. Have your passport, boarding pass, and completed Visit Japan Web QR code ready.

Go through immigration
Present your passport and any requested documents. The officer will check your visa-free eligibility, stamp your passport, and may ask about your stay duration, accommodation, and return plans. Answer clearly and briefly.

Collect luggage and clear customs
