What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you travel, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep digital copies on your phone and printouts in your carry-on.
2
Arrive at the airport in Sweden
At Stockholm Arlanda, Gothenburg Landvetter, or other Swedish airports, follow signs to 'Non-EU Passports'. Join the queue for passport control.
3
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying, and when you're leaving. Answer clearly and honestly.
4
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. This stamp starts your 90-day Schengen clock. Check the stamp before leaving the counter.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. Green channel for nothing to declare, red channel if you have goods over the duty-free limit.
