Apply early — no visa on arrival
Chad does not offer visas on arrival. You must have an approved e-Visa before you board your flight. Airlines check this at check-in. Apply at least 2 weeks in advance.
Yellow fever vaccine required
You'll need to show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (the 'yellow card') at immigration. Get the shot at least 10 days before you travel. No exceptions.

Apply for e-Visa online
Go to e-visa.td, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $100 USD) by credit card. Processing takes 3–7 business days, but allow 2 weeks.

Receive and print your visa
You'll get an approval email with a PDF. Print two copies — one to hand over at immigration, one as backup. Save a digital copy on your phone too.

Arrive at N'Djamena International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Have your passport, printed visa, return ticket, and accommodation proof ready. The officer will check your documents, stamp your passport, and you're in. Expect 20–40 minutes in line.
