Canadian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Azerbaijan. The entire process is online and takes about 3 business days. Plan ahead — there is no visa on arrival.

Go to the official Azerbaijan eVisa website. Fill in your passport details, travel dates, and a few personal questions. Pay the fee (around $20-25 USD) with a credit card. You'll get a confirmation email.

Most applications are processed within 3 business days. You'll receive a PDF visa by email. Check your spam folder. If it's been longer, you can check the status on the same website.

Arrive at the airport in Azerbaijan
At Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport, head to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, printed or digital eVisa, and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 1-2 minutes.

Show your accommodation and onward ticket
The immigration officer may ask for your hotel booking and return flight. Have them easily accessible on your phone. Answer clearly and confidently.
