Moldova entry requirements for Switzerland passport holders
Swiss passport holders can enter Moldova without a visa for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This has been the case since 2014, and there are no signs of it changing. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must cover your entire stay in Moldova | Your Swiss passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay. Moldova does not enforce a 6-month validity rule for Swiss citizens — as long as it covers your visit, you are fine. Airlines at Zurich and Geneva may still ask for 6 months validity, so check with your carrier before departure. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from Moldova | Immigration officers at Chișinău International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. A bus or train ticket to Romania or Ukraine also works if you are continuing overland. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Border officers may ask where you are staying. A hotel confirmation, Airbnb booking, or a letter from a host with their address and phone number is sufficient. Have it accessible on your phone or printed. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself during the stay | Moldovan immigration can request evidence of financial means. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least €50 per day of your stay. Most Swiss travellers are not asked, but it is better to have it ready. | Recommended |
