Apply early — no visa on arrival
Swiss citizens cannot get a visa on arrival in Mozambique. You must have the e-visa approved before you travel. Apply at least a week in advance to avoid being turned away at the border.

Apply for the e-visa online
Go to https://evisa.gov.mz/ and fill out the application form. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a recent passport-style photo. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing typically takes a few business days, so apply at least a week before your trip.

Receive and print your e-visa
Once approved, you'll get the e-visa by email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration in Maputo or any other entry point.

Arrive at the airport and go through immigration
At Maputo International Airport (MPM) or other entry points, join the 'Foreigners' queue. Present your passport, printed e-visa, and any supporting documents (return ticket, vaccination certificate if applicable). The officer will check your details and stamp your passport with the entry date. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.

Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim and then customs. Have your documents ready in case customs asks to see them. Then you're free to enter Mozambique.
