Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Swiss passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Kosovo. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Kosovo authorities, but airlines may check for at least 3 months validity.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration officers at Pristina Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation email or a letter from your host with their address and phone number is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request evidence of sufficient funds — roughly €50–100 per day. A recent bank statement or credit card showing available credit works fine.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Kosovo, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, you'll be turned away.
No visa needed for Swiss passport holders
You can enter Kosovo visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. No application, no fee, no paperwork — just show your passport.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Pristina International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Swiss passport holders use the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket screenshot ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 1-2 minutes.
2
Land border crossings
If arriving by road from Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, or Albania, you'll go through a standard border checkpoint. Same rules apply: passport, return ticket, and accommodation details if asked. Queues can be longer at peak times.
3
Departure from Kosovo
At departure, you'll go through passport control again. The officer will stamp you out. Keep your passport handy — no additional forms needed.
