What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Libyan eVisa website and fill out the application. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50–$100 depending on processing speed). Wait for approval — processing can take 3–10 business days.
2
Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive an email with your eVisa. Print at least two copies — one to hand over at immigration, one as backup. Also save a PDF on your phone.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
Before heading to the airport, gather: your passport (6+ months validity), printed eVisa, return ticket, first night hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a clear folder for quick access.
4
Arrive at Tripoli or Benghazi airport
At immigration, present your passport, eVisa, and return ticket. The officer may ask for your hotel address. Answer clearly. The process usually takes 10–20 minutes if your documents are in order.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Then proceed through customs — declare any large amounts of cash or restricted items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
