What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.so. Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50–$70 USD) with a credit card. Processing takes 3–7 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print two copies — one to hand over at immigration, one as a backup. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ)
Most international flights land in Mogadishu. After deplaning, follow signs to 'Visa' or 'Immigration'. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. They'll stamp you in. Expect a short queue — the airport is small.
4
Show your accommodation booking
Immigration may ask where you're staying. Have your hotel booking or invitation letter ready. A printed copy or phone screen works.
