Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
Cameroon passport holders need an eVisa to enter Malaysia. Apply at the official Window Malaysia portal, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the processing fee. Approval usually takes 3–5 working days — do not book flights until you have the eVisa confirmation.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into Malaysia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Malaysia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return flight out of Malaysia. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready — if you cannot show one, you may be refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Malaysia. Immigration may ask where you are staying, and having a booking ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Have bank statements or cash equivalent to at least 500 USD per person for your intended stay. Immigration officers rarely ask, but if they do, you need to show you are not working illegally or overstaying.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Cameroonian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Malaysia. You must apply for and receive an eVisa before you travel. Airlines will check this before letting you board.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Malaysia, not from your departure date. Double-check before you apply.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to windowmalaysia.my, create an account, fill in your details, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 1–3 working days. You'll receive the eVisa by email.
2
Print or save your eVisa
Print a paper copy and also save a PDF on your phone. Immigration at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or any other entry point will ask to see it.
3
Prepare documents for immigration
At the immigration counter, hand over your passport (with the eVisa clipped inside), return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp you in. Keep your boarding pass handy too.
4
Arrive and clear customs
After immigration, collect your luggage and proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. Then you're free to enter Malaysia.
