Return or onward ticketImmigration may ask for proof that you plan to leave Oman within the allowed stay.
Proof of departure
You must be able to show a return or onward ticket proving you will leave Oman before the 14-day visa-free period expires. This is typically checked at check-in and by immigration.Required
Proof of fundsHaving proof of financial means can help if immigration asks how you will support yourself.

E-visa applicationFor longer stays, you must obtain a visa in advance; the visa-free entry only covers short visits.
Not required for visa-free entry
Since you are visa-free, you do not need to apply for an e-visa. However, if you plan to stay longer than 14 days, you must apply for a visa through the official Oman e-visa portal before travel. Not required
14-day limit is strict
The visa-free entry is capped at 14 days. Overstaying can result in fines and future entry issues. If you plan a longer trip, get an e-visa before you arrive.
Passport validity is non-negotiable
Oman enforces the 6-month validity rule strictly. Even if you're just transiting, your passport must be valid for 6 months from your entry date. Check now, not at the airport.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
After landing at Muscat International Airport (or Salalah), follow the signs to 'Arrivals' and then to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for GCC nationals and others; join the 'Foreigners' or 'All Passports' line.
2
Present your passport
Hand your passport to the immigration officer. They will check your validity, may ask about your stay, and then stamp you in. No visa fee is charged for Chinese citizens.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim, then through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. That's it — you're in.
