Cyprus passport holders can visit the UK for tourism or business stays up to 180 days without a visa. This policy has been in place since the UK left the EU and remains unchanged in 2026. You can enter freely, but you must meet standard entry requirements at the border.

Apply for United Kingdom eVisaRequired for most visa-exempt visitors since 2024-2025. Not a visa — approval is linked electronically to your passport. Apply before you travel.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
UK Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW)You must apply for this online before you travel; it is not a full visa but a waiver that permits entry.
Required for Cyprus passport holders
Cyprus passport holders must obtain an Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) before travelling to the United Kingdom. The EVW is valid for a single entry and allows a stay of up to 6 months. Apply online at least 48 hours before departure.Required
Passport validityMake sure your passport does not expire within 6 months of your travel date, or you may be denied boarding.
At least 6 months from arrival
Your Cyprus passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of arrival in the United Kingdom.Required
Blank passport pagesThe border officer will stamp your passport; without a blank page you could be refused entry.
At least 1 blank page
Your passport must have at least one blank page for the entry stamp. It is recommended to have more than one blank page to avoid issues.Required
Return or onward ticketHaving a return ticket helps prove you intend to leave the UK, which is a common requirement for entry.
Not explicitly required but recommended
UK immigration does not always require proof of return or onward travel, but you may be asked to show evidence of your intended departure from the UK. It is strongly recommended to carry a return or onward ticket.Recommended
Proof of fundsShowing you have enough money for your stay can help convince border officers you will not become a burden.
Not explicitly required but recommended
UK immigration may ask for evidence that you can support yourself financially during your stay. It is recommended to carry bank statements or proof of sufficient funds for your trip.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou do not need to fill out any arrival form before landing in the UK.
Not required
There is no arrival declaration required for Cyprus passport holders entering the United Kingdom. Not required
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in the UK, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before you travel — you could be refused entry.
No eGates for Cyprus passport holders
You cannot use the automated eGates at UK airports. You must queue at the manned border control lanes. This can take longer, especially at peak times. Allow extra time for immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before you travel
Gather your passport, return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Save digital copies on your phone and print backups. Check your passport validity now — if it's under 6 months, renew it.
2
Arrive at a UK airport or port
At major airports like Heathrow, Gatwick, or Manchester, follow signs to 'UK Border' or 'Arrivals'. Join the queue for 'Non-UK Passports' (not the eGates — those are for UK, EU, and a few other nationalities).
3
Present your passport to the Border Force officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will ask a few questions: purpose of visit, how long you're staying, where you're staying, and when you're leaving. Answer clearly and honestly. They may ask to see your return ticket or accommodation proof.
4
Receive your entry stamp
If everything is fine, the officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the maximum stay allowed (usually 6 months). You're now free to enter the UK.
