What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.moip.gov.mm, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee (around $50 USD). Processing usually takes 3 working days, but can take up to 5 during busy periods.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
You'll get an approval letter by email. Print a paper copy and save a PDF on your phone. The eVisa is valid for 90 days from issue and allows a stay of up to 28 days.
3
Arrive at Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw airport
eVisa holders can only enter through Yangon International (RGN), Mandalay International (MDL), or Naypyidaw International (NYT). Land border crossings are not allowed with an eVisa.
4
Go through immigration
Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and boarding pass. The officer will check your details, stamp your passport, and let you through. Have your return ticket and hotel booking ready in case they ask.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. There's usually no customs declaration for personal items.
