Immigration officers at Abidjan airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone — they may not accept verbal assurances.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Côte d'Ivoire. Officers occasionally ask for this at passport control, especially if you're staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least 500,000 CFA (~€760) for your stay. Immigration may ask for this if you look underfunded or are staying long-term.Recommended

Apply early — processing can be slow
The e-visa site (snedai.com) sometimes takes the full 7 business days. Don't leave it to the last minute. Apply at least 2 weeks before your flight.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to snedai.com and fill out the application. Upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around €70–€90 depending on processing speed). Processing takes 3–7 business days.
2
Receive and print your visa approval
You'll get an approval email with a PDF. Print it — you'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival. Keep a digital copy on your phone as backup.
3
Arrive at Abidjan Airport (Félix-Houphouët-Boigny)
After landing, head to immigration. Join the queue for 'visa already obtained'. Present your passport, printed visa approval, and return ticket. They'll stamp you in — usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel. There's a customs check (green/red channel). If you have nothing to declare, walk through the green channel.
