Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Cameroon. Apply at the official eVisa portal — processing takes a few business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your Czech passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Immigration at Yaoundé and Douala airports checks this strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket before granting entry. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cameroon. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to show you have enough money for your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but it's better to have proof on hand.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) to enter Cameroon. Immigration officers check this at the airport. No card = possible denial of entry or on-the-spot vaccination.
eVisa is not a guarantee of entry
Having an approved eVisa doesn't guarantee you'll be let in — the final decision is always with the immigration officer at the border. Carry all supporting documents (return ticket, hotel booking, proof of funds) to avoid issues.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisacameroon.com, fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around €80–100 depending on processing speed) with a credit card. You'll get a confirmation email with a reference number.
2
Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 2–5 business days, but can stretch to 10 during peak periods. Check your spam folder. Once approved, you'll receive a PDF — print two copies and save it on your phone.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Before heading to the airport, gather: passport with 6+ months validity, printed eVisa, return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a folder you can grab quickly.
4
Arrive in Cameroon and go through immigration
At Yaoundé Nsimalen or Douala International, join the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport, eVisa printout, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — no additional visa on arrival is needed. Expect questions about your accommodation and purpose of visit.

Frequently asked questions

No. Cameroon does not offer visa on arrival for Czech passport holders. You must obtain an eVisa before you travel. Without it, you'll be denied boarding by the airline.
Standard processing takes 2–5 business days. There's an express option (24–48 hours) that costs about €150–200. Apply at least a week before your flight to avoid stress.
The standard eVisa fee is around €80–100, depending on the current exchange rate and processing speed. Express processing costs extra. Payment is by credit card on the official portal.
The eVisa is single-entry and typically valid for 30 days. Extensions are possible but not straightforward — you'd need to visit the immigration office in Yaoundé or Douala, pay a fee (around €50–100), and provide a reason. It's easier to plan your trip within the initial validity.
Rejections are rare but can happen if your documents are incomplete or your passport doesn't meet the validity requirement. You'll receive an email explaining the reason. You can reapply with corrected information — the fee is not refunded.
Yes. Cameroon requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers over 9 months old. You'll need to show your International Certificate of Vaccination (the yellow card) at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (if available).
No. Your Czech passport is what matters — the eVisa is tied to your passport, not your residence status. Even if you live in another country, you still need the eVisa.
