Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Czech passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Hong Kong. Hong Kong does not require 6 months of remaining validity for visa-free visitors, but your airline might check for it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Hong Kong
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking out of Hong Kong within the 90-day visa-free period.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Hong Kong. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Immigration may ask to see evidence of funds — a bank statement or credit card showing enough to cover your trip. No fixed amount is published, but having access to at least 10,000 HKD equivalent is sensible.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Hong Kong immigration will deny entry if your passport has less than 6 months of validity from your date of entry. This is not negotiable. Check your passport now and renew if needed.
No visa needed for 90 days
Czech passport holders can stay visa-free for up to 90 days. This covers tourism, business meetings, and family visits. You cannot work or study under this arrangement.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date), print or save your return ticket and first night's hotel booking. Also grab a local eSIM or SIM card so you're connected on arrival.
2
Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. There are separate queues for Hong Kong residents and visitors. Join the 'Visitors' queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
3
Present your passport at immigration counter
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask about the purpose of your visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a 90-day entry permit.
4
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, go to the baggage claim carousel for your flight. Then walk through the 'Green Channel' if you have nothing to declare. If you're carrying more than 12,000 HKD in cash or equivalent, use the 'Red Channel'.
