Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Kyrgyzstan. Airlines at Prague Václav Havel Airport may ask to see it before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kyrgyzstan
Immigration at Manas International Airport in Bishkek routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Officers at the border rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $50 USD per day. I've never been asked for it at Bishkek airport, but it's a legal requirement.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Immigration officers check this carefully. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be turned away.
No visa extension available
The 60-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you need to stay longer, you must apply for a visa before traveling. Overstaying can lead to fines and future entry bans.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Manas International Airport (Bishkek)
Most Czech travelers fly into Bishkek. After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' for foreign nationals. There are usually separate queues for visa-free and visa holders — join the visa-free line.
2
Present your passport and boarding pass
Hand over your passport and boarding pass. The officer will check your passport validity and may ask about your return ticket or accommodation. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and permitted stay (60 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — make sure the date is correct.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
