Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Czech passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Lithuania. Since you're entering the Schengen zone, the 90/180-day rule applies across all Schengen countries, not just Lithuania.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Schengen area
Immigration officers at Lithuanian border crossings routinely ask for proof that you're leaving the Schengen zone within your 90-day visa-free limit. Have a return ticket or a ticket to a non-Schengen country ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border guards may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from a friend you're visiting works. I've been asked for this at Vilnius Airport before.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Lithuanian immigration can request evidence of sufficient funds. Have a bank statement or credit card showing you have at least €100 per day of your stay. I've never been asked, but it's in the rules.Recommended
Schengen zone rules apply
Lithuania is part of the Schengen Area. Your 90-day visa-free stay counts across all Schengen countries combined, not just Lithuania. Keep track of your days using the Schengen calculator.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at border
Fly into Vilnius Airport (VNO), Kaunas Airport (KUN), or Palanga Airport (PLQ). You'll go through Schengen border control. EU/EEA lanes are usually faster.
2
Present your passport
Hand over your passport to the border officer. They may ask about your trip purpose, length of stay, and accommodation. Answer honestly and briefly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. Check the stamp is legible before walking away. Keep it safe — you'll need it on exit.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, pick up your bags from baggage claim and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare.
