Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival at Hamad International Airport
Czech passport holders get a free 30-day visa on arrival at Doha's Hamad International Airport. No pre-application needed — just walk up to the visa counter after baggage claim. You can extend it once for another 30 days at the Ministry of Interior (fee around 200 QAR).Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date
Qatar enforces the 6-month validity rule strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding in Prague or Doha. Airlines check this before issuing a boarding pass. No exceptions.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa-on-arrival entry
Immigration officers at Hamad International Airport ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. A flight booking confirmation or e-ticket works. Without one, you risk being sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter from your Qatari host ready. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, you need to show where you are staying. A booking.com confirmation works fine.Recommended
Visa on arrival is automatic for Czechs
You don't need to apply or pay anything in advance. Just show up with a valid passport, return ticket, and accommodation booking. The process takes about 15 minutes at the airport.
Overstay fines are steep
Overstaying even one day costs 200 QAR (about €50). The fine increases daily. Set a reminder to leave before your 30 days are up.

What happens at the border

1
Land at Hamad International Airport
After deplaning, follow the signs for 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Immigration'. The counters are clearly marked. You'll join a queue — it usually moves quickly, but can take 15–30 minutes during peak hours.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and accommodation booking. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp the visa sticker into your passport. No payment is required for Czech citizens.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
Once stamped, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's no arrival declaration form to fill out. You're free to enter Qatar.
