Cash only at visa counter
The visa on arrival fee must be paid in cash — US dollars or Rwandan francs. Cards are not accepted. Bring crisp US bills (no older than 2009) to avoid rejection.
E-visa available if you prefer
You can also apply for an e-visa online before travel at https://irembo.gov.rw. The cost is the same (USD 50), but it saves time at the airport. Processing takes 3–5 business days.

Arrive at Kigali International Airport
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Immigration'. There's a dedicated counter before the main passport control queue.

Fill out the visa application form
You'll receive a small paper form. Fill in your passport details, flight info, and accommodation. A pen is handy — counters sometimes run out.

Submit form and pay the fee
Hand the form, your passport, and USD 50 cash to the officer. They'll process payment and issue a visa sticker. Keep the receipt.

Proceed to passport control
With the visa sticker in your passport, join the main passport control line. The officer will stamp you in. That's it — you're in.
