Passport validity is strictly enforced

Registration after 10 days
If you stay longer than 10 days, you must register with the authorities. Hotels handle this automatically, but if you're in private accommodation, you need to visit the local OVIR office in person.

Arrive at Dushanbe International Airport
Most travellers fly into Dushanbe (DYU). After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. There are usually two queues: one for Tajik citizens and one for foreigners. Join the foreigners queue.

Present your passport and documents
Hand over your passport (valid 6+ months) and any supporting documents if asked (return ticket, accommodation). The officer will check your details and stamp you in. This usually takes 2–5 minutes.

Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim. Then head to customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're now free to enter Tajikistan.
