Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Algerian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Bahrain. Apply online at the official Bahrain eVisa portal before your trip. Processing usually takes a few business days, so apply at least a week ahead.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Bahrain. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Bahraini law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration at Bahrain International Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure from Bahrain within your visa's validity.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Bahrain. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you're staying at a private residence.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to show you have enough money for your trip. Bahrain doesn't publish a fixed minimum, but around 500 BHD per week is a safe benchmark.Recommended
eVisa required — no visa on arrival
Algerian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Bahrain. You must apply and receive approval online before you fly. Without it, you'll be denied boarding.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Bahrain, not from the day you apply. Check your expiry date carefully.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.bh, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 1–3 business days. You'll receive the approved eVisa by email — print it or save it on your phone.
2
Prepare your documents for the airport
Before you leave for the airport, double-check: passport with 6+ months validity, printed or digital eVisa, return ticket, and first night's hotel booking. Screenshot everything in case you lose signal.
3
Arrival at Bahrain International Airport (BAH)
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp — valid for up to 30 days.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall where taxis and ride-hailing apps are available.
