Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) to enter DR Congo. Immigration officers at N'djili Airport check this regularly. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on the spot at your own expense.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport bio page, and travel insurance on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your printed documents, having digital copies can save you hours at the embassy.

Apply for eVisa online
Go to visa.gouv.cd and complete the application form. Upload a digital passport photo and a copy of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online (typically $100–$150 depending on visa type). Processing takes 3–7 business days.

Receive eVisa approval
You'll get an approval email with a PDF attachment. Print at least two copies — one for your carry-on, one in your luggage. Also save a digital copy on your phone.

Arrive at N'djili Airport (FIH) or other entry point
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through. Expect a short queue — 15–30 minutes on a normal day.

Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim. There may be a customs check — declare any expensive electronics or large sums of cash. Then exit into the arrivals hall.
