Don't book non-refundable flights until you have the visa

Save your visa PDF, passport scan, and accommodation booking on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose the printed visa, digital copies can help at the border — but you'll still need the original passport.

Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to evisa.gov.ua/en/ and fill out the application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a recent passport-style photo. Pay the fee (around $20–$30 USD depending on processing speed). Processing takes 5–10 working days.

Wait for approval and print the visa
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF visa via email. Print it out — you'll need to show it at the border. Also save a copy on your phone as backup.

Before you fly, gather: passport (valid 6+ months), printed visa, return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in your carry-on.

Arrive at a Ukrainian airport and go through immigration
At Boryspil (Kyiv) or Lviv airport, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport and visa. The officer may ask about your trip purpose and accommodation. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp — that's your permission to stay.

No. The e-Visa is not extendable. You must leave before it expires. If you need a longer stay, apply for a different visa type (e.g., a long-stay visa) at the Ukrainian embassy in Algiers before you travel.
