Prepare your documents before flying

Complete the arrival card on the plane
You'll receive a small arrival card during the flight. Fill it out with your flight number, passport details, and address in South Africa. Keep it with your passport.

Go through immigration at the airport
At Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, Cape Town, or Durban, follow the 'Foreign Passports' signs. Hand over your passport and arrival card. The officer may ask about your stay, accommodation, and return plans. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp valid for up to 90 days.

Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. Keep your entry stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
