No visa on arrival for Egyptian passport holders
Despite some online sources, there is no visa-on-arrival facility for Egyptian citizens at Indian airports. You must have an approved e-Visa before you board your flight. Airlines will check this before issuing your boarding pass.
e-Visa validity periods
India offers 30-day, 1-year, and 5-year e-Visas. The 30-day e-Visa allows double entry; the longer ones allow multiple entries. Choose based on your travel plans — the 30-day is cheapest and fine for most tourists.

Apply for e-Visa online
Go to indianvisaonline.gov.in, fill out the application, upload a passport-style photo and your passport scan, and pay the fee. Processing takes 2–4 business days. You'll receive an approval email — print it and save a PDF on your phone.

Pack your documents
Before you leave, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), printed e-Visa approval, return ticket, and first night hotel booking. Keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage.

Arrival at Indian airport
At immigration, join the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport and e-Visa printout. The officer will scan your passport, stamp you in, and may ask your hotel address or return flight date. Answer clearly. The whole process takes 2–5 minutes.

Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then walk through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're in.
