Spanish passport holders need a visa to enter Chad. You must apply online before you travel — there's no visa on arrival for tourism. Plan ahead, as processing can take a couple of weeks.

Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate (Yellow Card) upon arrival. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport — which can be expensive and inconvenient.
Local currency and cash
Chad uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF). Credit cards are rarely accepted outside major hotels. Bring enough euros or US dollars to exchange at the airport or a bank.

Go to e-visa.td, fill out the online form, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5–10 business days. You'll receive an approval PDF by email.

Print your visa approval
Print the approval document and keep it with your passport. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in N'Djamena.

Arrive at N'Djamena International Airport
After landing, head to immigration. Present your passport, printed visa approval, and return ticket. They'll stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes if you have everything ready.
