China entry requirements for Finland passport holders
Finnish passport holders can enter China visa-free for stays up to 30 days. This policy is in effect for 2026 and applies to tourism, business, and transit purposes. No prior visa application is needed — just show up with your passport and a return ticket.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for the duration of your stay | Your passport needs to be valid for at least the full 30 days you plan to stay in China. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from China | Immigration officers at major airports like Beijing Capital and Shanghai Pudong routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure within the 30-day visa-free window. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or invitation letter | Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in China. Officers sometimes ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself during the stay | Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $500 USD equivalent. Officers rarely check this for Finnish passport holders, but it helps if asked. | Recommended |
