Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Finnish passport needs to be valid for your entire stay in Cyprus. Since Cyprus is not part of the Schengen Area for passport control purposes, the standard Schengen 90/180-day rule does not apply here — you get up to 90 days in any 180-day period as a visa-free visitor.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cyprus
Immigration officers at Larnaca and Paphos airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation, Airbnb receipt, or a letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but if they do, having it on your phone avoids a 20-minute delay at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card ready. Cyprus does not enforce a fixed minimum, but showing you have at least €50–€100 per day of stay keeps things smooth.Recommended
Cyprus is not fully in Schengen
Even though Cyprus is part of the Schengen Area for visa-free travel, it is not yet a full Schengen member. This means you may still have passport checks when flying between Cyprus and other Schengen countries.
Finnish passport holders get fast-track entry
Use the EU/EEA lane at passport control. This is usually much faster than the non-EU lane.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Larnaca or Paphos airport
You'll land at Larnaca International Airport (LCA) or Paphos International Airport (PFO). Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Passport Control'.
2
Queue at EU/EEA passport control
As a Finnish passport holder, use the 'EU/EEA' lane. Have your passport ready. The officer will check your passport and may ask about your stay.
3
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying. Answer clearly and briefly. Show your return ticket or accommodation if asked.
4
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry. This stamp confirms your legal stay. Keep it safe — you'll need it when leaving.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. You're free to leave the airport.
