Spain entry requirements for Finland passport holders
Finland is part of the Schengen Area, so you can travel to Spain without a visa for short stays. As of 2026, Finnish passport holders can enter Spain freely for tourism, business, or family visits. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for the duration of your stay | Your Finnish passport needs to be valid for your entire stay in Spain. Spain does not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date, but your airline may enforce it — check with Finnair, Norwegian, or Ryanair before you fly. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from the Schengen area | Immigration officers at Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, and other Spanish airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. This can be a flight, train, or ferry ticket out of the Schengen zone. A bus ticket to Portugal or France also works. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Have a hotel confirmation, Airbnb booking, or a signed letter from your host ready. Spanish border guards occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A printed or digital copy works. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself during your stay | Spain officially requires €100 per person per day (minimum €900 total). In practice, officers rarely ask, but having a bank statement or credit card with a sufficient limit avoids problems. Cash is not necessary. | Recommended |
