Finnish passport holders need a visa to enter Pakistan in 2026. Apply online through the official visa portal before you travel — there are no visa-on-arrival options for Finnish citizens. Processing can take a week or more, so plan ahead.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Pakistan eVisa at visa.nadra.gov.pk at least 2 weeks before departure. The online form asks for passport details, travel itinerary, and a digital photo. Processing takes 7–10 working days for most nationalities.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid on arrival
Your Finnish passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Pakistan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Pakistani airports routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone showing your departure from Pakistan within the eVisa validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Pakistan. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least $200 USD or equivalent in cash, or a credit/debit card with a visible balance. Immigration rarely checks, but if asked, you need to show you can cover your stay.Recommended
Visa required — no exceptions
Finnish passport holders cannot enter Pakistan without a pre-approved visa. There is no visa-on-arrival or eTA scheme. Apply online at least 2 weeks before departure.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Pakistan, not from the day you apply. If your passport expires in 5 months, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk and fill out the application. Upload a passport-style photo and scanned passport bio page. Pay the fee online (around €30–€60 depending on visa type). Processing takes 5–10 working days.
2
Receive your visa decision
Check your email and the portal for updates. If approved, you'll get an e-visa PDF or a visa sticker authorization. Print a copy and save it on your phone.
3
Arrive at a Pakistani airport
At Islamabad, Karachi, or Lahore airport, go to the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport, visa printout, and boarding pass. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly — they're used to tourists.
4
Get your passport stamped
The officer will stamp your passport with entry date and duration of stay. Check the stamp says the correct number of days (usually 30 or 90 depending on your visa). Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it for exit.
