90-day limit in 180-day window – track it carefully
The 90 days are counted as a rolling total. For example, if you stay 30 days in June, 30 in July, and 30 in August, you've used your allowance. If you re-enter in September, you may be refused because the previous 180 days still include those 90 days. Use a calculator or note your entry/exit dates.
Not extendable – no exceptions for tourism
Turkish immigration does not allow extending the visa-free stay for tourism. If you overstay, a fine is applied and you may be banned for 3 months up to 5 years for serious violations. Plan to leave on time.

At the airport – airline check-in
Present your passport at check-in. The airline will verify your passport validity (at least 6 months) and may ask for a return or onward ticket. Have your booking details ready.

On arrival – passport control queue
At Turkish airports (IST, SAW, etc.), join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport; the officer may ask the purpose and length of your visit. You'll receive an entry stamp valid for up to 90 days.

Keep track of your days. The 90-day allowance is cumulative over a rolling 180-day window. Overstaying can lead to fines and a future ban, so consider setting a calendar reminder.
