Visa Required — No eTA Option
Ghanaian passport holders cannot use the eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) system. You must apply for a full visitor visa (TRV) before traveling. The eTA is only available to citizens of visa-exempt countries.
Biometrics Appointment in Accra
After submitting your online application, you'll need to visit the Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Accra to give fingerprints and a photo. The VAC is located at 2nd Floor, Trust Towers, F792+4P, Accra. Book your appointment online — walk-ins are not accepted. The biometrics fee is CAD $85 (about GHS 800).
Multiple-Entry Visa Recommended
If you plan to visit Canada more than once in the next 10 years, apply for a multiple-entry visa (CAD $500). It allows you to enter and exit Canada multiple times without reapplying. Single-entry visas (CAD $100) are cheaper but only valid for one trip.

Complete the Online Application
Go to the IRCC website (Canada.ca) and create an account. Fill out the application form (IMM 5257), upload your documents, and pay the visa fee (CAD $100 for a single entry, CAD $500 for multiple entries). You'll also pay the biometrics fee (CAD $85) at this stage.

Submit Biometrics
