Turkey does not offer visa on arrival for Ghanaian passport holders. You must have an approved e-Visa before you fly. Apply at least 1 week before departure to avoid last-minute issues.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Turkey, not from when you leave. If your passport expires in less than 6 months, renew it before applying for the e-Visa.

Prepare your documents
Print or save on your phone: your e-Visa approval, passport (check validity), return ticket, first night accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a folder you can access quickly.

Arrive at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW)
At passport control, hand over your passport and e-Visa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly. The process usually takes 2–5 minutes. After stamping, you're free to enter.

After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. No arrival declaration is needed for standard tourist visits. Exit into the arrivals hall.
