Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Morocco
Morocco strictly enforces the 6-month passport validity rule. Airlines check this at check-in and will deny boarding if your passport expires sooner. Overstaying your 90-day visa-free period costs 100 MAD per day (about $10), paid at the airport before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Morocco
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at passport control. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. A one-way ticket without proof of onward travel can result in denied entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have access to at least 500 MAD (about $50) per day of your stay, either in cash, credit card, or bank statement. Immigration rarely checks this for Greek passport holders, but it's wise to have proof ready.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Moroccan immigration requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Airlines also check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you book anything.
Overstaying is costly
The 90-day visa-free period cannot be extended. Overstaying even by a day can result in a fine of 200-300 MAD per day and a re-entry ban. Set a reminder to leave on time.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months), print or save your return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Also arrange a local SIM or eSIM so you have data on arrival.
2
Arrive at Moroccan immigration
At the airport (Casablanca, Marrakech, etc.), join the foreign passport queue. Hand over your passport and any requested documents. The officer will stamp your passport — this is your entry record. Keep the stamp visible.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. There is usually no customs declaration for personal items. You're now free to enter Morocco.
