Greek passport holders need an eVisa to visit Myanmar. The eVisa covers tourism and business, and you must apply online before travel. As of 2026, the eVisa is the standard entry method for short stays.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Myanmar eVisa at the official Ministry of Immigration portal. Processing takes 3–5 working days, and you'll receive an approval letter via email. Print two copies — one for immigration and one for your airline check-in counter.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity beyond your intended departure date
Your Greek passport needs at least 6 months remaining validity from the day you leave Myanmar. Airlines at Athens and connecting hubs will check this before letting you board.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Myanmar
Immigration officers at Yangon and Mandalay airports routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone — they check this before stamping you in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Immigration may ask for your first night's address during the entry interview.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support your stay
Have at least $300 USD equivalent in cash or a bank statement ready. ATMs in Myanmar are unreliable, so bring enough USD in crisp bills for your entire trip.Recommended
eVisa is not for land borders
The eVisa only works for flights into Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw airports. You cannot use it to enter Myanmar by land from Thailand, China, or India.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport photo, and travel insurance docs in your phone and email. Internet can be patchy, so offline access is smart.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Myanmar eVisa website (evisa.moip.gov.mm). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3 business days, sometimes faster.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
You'll get an approval email with a PDF. Print a copy and save a screenshot on your phone. The eVisa is linked to your passport number, so you don't need to carry the paper, but it's smart to have it.
3
Arrive at the airport in Myanmar
At Yangon (RGN), Mandalay (MDL), or Naypyidaw (NYT) international airports, go to the immigration counter. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and boarding pass. They'll stamp you in. Keep your return ticket and accommodation proof handy in case they ask.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. There's a customs declaration if you're carrying more than $10,000 or restricted items. Otherwise, just walk through the green channel.
