Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from Tunisia
Your passport needs at least 3 months of validity left after the day you leave Tunisia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, they will deny boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Tunisia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward flight ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone — showing a booking confirmation with your name and flight number works fine.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash, card, or bank statement
Show you can support yourself during your stay — around 100 TND per day ($30–$35) is a safe benchmark. A credit card and a recent bank statement or a few hundred euros in cash covers this.Recommended
No arrival declaration needed
You do not need to fill out any arrival form or online declaration before travelling. Just show your passport and return ticket at the border.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Tunis-Carthage Airport (or other entry point)
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (Passeport). Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and return ticket screenshot ready. The officer will stamp your passport and you're in. The whole process usually takes 5–15 minutes.
2
Prepare documents before the queue
While waiting, open your passport to the photo page and have your return ticket visible on your phone. This speeds things up. If asked, state your hotel name and how long you're staying.
