Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Greek passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Kosovo. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Kosovo authorities, but airlines may ask for 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration officers at Pristina International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation email or a letter from your host with their address and phone number is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can ask for evidence of sufficient funds. Have a bank statement or credit card showing at least €50 per day of your stay — cash or card works.Recommended
Kosovo uses the Euro
Kosovo's official currency is the Euro (EUR), same as Greece. No need to exchange money — just bring your euros. ATMs are widely available in cities.
Entry from Serbia
If you plan to enter Kosovo from Serbia, you must use a designated Kosovo border crossing (like Merdare or Jarinje). Do not attempt to enter via Serbian-controlled crossings — you may be denied entry or face legal issues.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border or airport
At Pristina International Airport (PRN), follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' after deplaning. At land borders (e.g., Merdare, Jarinje), join the queue for non-Kosovo citizens.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and, if asked, your return ticket and accommodation confirmation. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and length of stay.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry. Check the stamp is legible before stepping away. You are allowed up to 90 days.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim (if flying) and then customs. There are no additional forms or fees for Greek citizens.
