Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter Burkina Faso. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and possibly fined). Get the shot at least 10 days before travel.

Go to visaburkina.bf, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes a few business days. You'll receive the approved visa by email.

Print or save your eVisa
Print a paper copy of the eVisa approval email. Also save a PDF on your phone. You'll show it at immigration on arrival.

Prepare your documents for arrival
Have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and hotel booking ready. Keep them together in a folder or a clear plastic sleeve.

Arrive at Ouagadougou Airport
At Ouagadougou International Airport, go to the immigration counter. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer clearly and politely.

After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. Then proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
