Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Cameroon. Apply at the official eVisa portal before departure. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week ahead.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your Italian passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Cameroon. No minimum validity beyond departure is required, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Yaoundé and Douala airports check for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel bookings or an invitation letter from a host can speed up immigration. Officers rarely ask, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry cash (CFA francs or euros) or a bank statement showing you can cover your stay. Immigration may ask for proof of sufficient funds, though it's not always enforced.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show your yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) on arrival. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport — at your own expense.
Cash is king in Cameroon
ATMs are scarce outside Yaoundé and Douala, and card payments are rare. Bring enough euros or dollars to exchange, or withdraw a good amount at the airport upon arrival.
