Cyprus entry requirements for Italy passport holders
Italian passport holders can travel to Cyprus visa-free for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This has been the case since Cyprus joined the Schengen area in 2004, and it remains unchanged in 2026. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must cover your stay in Cyprus | Your Italian passport only needs to be valid for the duration of your stay in Cyprus. Cyprus does not enforce the 6-month validity rule for EU nationals. Airlines rarely check this, but carry a passport that won't expire during your trip. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from Cyprus | Immigration officers at Larnaca and Paphos airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready. This applies even for short visits within the Schengen area. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Carry a hotel confirmation, Airbnb receipt, or a letter from your host. Officers ask for this less often than return tickets, but having it avoids delays at the counter. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself | Have a bank statement or credit card ready. Cyprus does not publish a minimum amount, but showing at least €50–€100 per day of stay covers you. Officers rarely ask EU nationals, but it's better to have it. | Recommended |
