Kenyan passport holders need an eVisa to enter Oman. You apply online before traveling, and once approved, you receive a PDF to show at immigration. Since 2026, this is the standard process for tourism and short visits.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Required for Kenyan passport holders
Apply for an Oman eVisa at the Royal Oman Police eVisa portal before you travel. The application takes about 15 minutes — you'll need a passport scan, a passport-style photo, and a credit card for the fee. Processing usually takes 1–3 business days, but apply at least a week before your flight to be safe.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your Kenyan passport needs at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Oman. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding. Two blank pages are required for entry and exit stamps.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Muscat International Airport will ask to see a confirmed onward or return flight ticket. This applies to all visitors — have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. A bus or ferry ticket out of Oman also works if you're leaving overland.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to have ready
Have your hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Oman ready. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you're staying for more than a few days. A printed copy is safest, but a digital version on your phone works too.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to have ready
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement or credit card statement showing at least $500 USD equivalent is a safe bet. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, you'll need to show you can cover your expenses without working.Recommended
Apply early — don't wait until the last minute
eVisa processing can take up to 3 business days. If you apply the day before your flight and it's delayed, you won't be able to board. Give yourself at least a week.
Passport validity counts from entry date, not departure
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Oman, not the day you leave. If you're staying 2 weeks, your passport needs to be valid for 6 months + 2 weeks from entry.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Royal Oman Police eVisa portal (evisa.rop.gov.om). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 1–3 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at the immigration counter when you land.
3
Arrive at Muscat International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'eVisa' or 'Foreign Passports' counters. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket if asked. The officer stamps your passport — that's it. The whole process usually takes 5–10 minutes.
