What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the official Papua New Guinea eVisa portal. Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel plans. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a recent passport-style photo. Pay the fee (typically around USD 50–100 depending on visa type) by credit card. Submit and wait for approval — usually 2–5 business days.
2
Receive eVisa and print a copy
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa PDF. Print two copies — one to keep with your passport, one as a backup. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at Port Moresby (Jacksons International Airport)
Most international flights land at Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby. After deplaning, follow signs to Immigration. Have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through. The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim. Then proceed through customs — declare any restricted items. Once outside, you can buy a local SIM at the airport shop or activate your eSIM.
