2
Pay the fee and book biometrics

Frequently asked questions

Standard processing is 15 working days (3 weeks) from your biometric appointment. Priority service (5 working days) costs an extra £250, and super priority (next working day) costs £1,000. These are available at the Almaty and Nur-Sultan VACs.
The standard visitor visa fee is £115 (about 50,000 KZT). This covers up to 6 months stay. Longer-term visas (2, 5, or 10 years) cost more — £432, £771, and £1,000 respectively.
No — standard visitor visas are not extendable. You must leave before the visa expiry date. If you need to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a different visa type from outside the UK.
Yes — you need to prove you can support yourself during your stay. Typically, you'll need 3-6 months of bank statements showing sufficient funds (at least £100 per day of stay, plus accommodation costs). The exact amount depends on your itinerary.
You'll receive a refusal letter explaining the reason. Common reasons include insufficient funds, unclear travel plans, or weak ties to Kazakhstan. You can reapply — but you'll need to address the refusal reason and pay the fee again. There's no appeal for visitor visas.
No — a UK visa does not automatically allow entry to Ireland. Ireland has its own visa system. If you want to visit both, you'll need separate visas unless you qualify under the British-Irish Visa Scheme (which doesn't cover Kazakhstan).
You apply online at gov.uk/apply-uk-visa, then attend a biometric appointment at TLScontact UK Visa Application Centres in Almaty (Dostyk Ave, 180) or Nur-Sultan (Astana). Both are operated by TLScontact.
