Cash only at visa counter
The visa on arrival fee must be paid in cash — no cards, no mobile payments. Bring US dollars, euros, or Nepalese rupees in crisp, undamaged bills. ATMs are available after immigration, but you'll need cash to get through.
Visa on arrival is for tourism only
This visa is for tourism, trekking, and short visits. If you're coming for work, study, or long-term volunteering, you need a visa from a Nepalese embassy before you travel.

Technically yes — immigration may ask for proof of onward travel. In practice, they rarely check for short stays, but it's safer to have a return or onward ticket booked. Keep a screenshot on your phone.
No problem — they'll take your photo at the visa counter for a small fee (around $5). But bringing your own photos saves time and money.
No — the visa on arrival is single-entry. If you leave Nepal (even to India for a day trip), you'll need a new visa when you return.
