Apply for your ETA online

Book a return or onward ticket and your first night's accommodation. Keep digital copies of both confirmations on your phone.

At check-in, the airline will verify your ETA approval. Have your passport and booking confirmations ready. If your ETA isn't linked to your passport, show the approval email.

Go through immigration on arrival
At an Australian airport, use the SmartGate kiosk if eligible (check at the airport). Otherwise, join the queue for foreign passports. The officer will scan your passport, may ask about your trip, and stamp your entry. Keep your return ticket and accommodation details handy.
