Uganda entry requirements for Laos passport holders
Laos passport holders must get an eVisa before traveling to Uganda. The entire application is online, and approval is required prior to departure. As of 2026, this is the only visa option for tourism or business visits.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| eVisa application Apply before travel | Apply for a Uganda eVisa at visas.immigration.go.ug at least 2 weeks before departure. The single-entry tourist eVisa costs $50 USD and is valid for 90 days from issue. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Entebbe will stamp the visa sticker on arrival.Apply for eVisa | Required |
| Valid passport Must have 6+ months validity | Your Lao passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your entry date into Uganda. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. Two blank visa pages are also required for the entry stamp. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Required for entry | Immigration officers at Entebbe International Airport routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. Without it, you may be refused entry and placed on the next flight out. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or invitation letter | Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Uganda. Immigration may ask where you are staying during your visit. A booking confirmation with the hotel name, address, and phone number is sufficient. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself | Have bank statements or cash equivalent to at least $200 USD per day of your stay. Immigration officers rarely ask, but if they do, you need to demonstrate you can cover your expenses. Credit cards are accepted in Kampala but cash is preferred for smaller transactions. | Recommended |
