The Maldives requires all visitors to complete an IMUGA arrival declaration within 96 hours before arrival. It's free and takes 2 minutes. Fill it out at imuga.immigration.gov.mv and save the QR code.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land. Airlines check this before boarding — if it's close, renew before you travel.

Within 96 hours before your flight, go to imuga.immigration.gov.mv and fill out the arrival declaration. You'll get a QR code — save it on your phone.

Arrive at Velana International Airport (MLE)
After landing in Malé, follow signs to immigration. Join the 'Visa on Arrival' queue. Have your passport, return ticket, accommodation confirmation, and IMUGA QR code ready.

Receive your visa stamp
The officer will check your documents and stamp a 30-day visa in your passport. No fee. The whole process usually takes 5-10 minutes.

Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags and head through customs. Then you're free to leave the airport.
